Yellow

All it took was a little sun.

Lots more to come in the next few weeks. Some rudbeckia are just starting to bud, other are still growing. Seedlings are popping up here and there since we've been receiving decent rainfall.

Moonshine Yarrow

It's 77 degrees and humid. 60% chance of storms this evening after 6pm. Rain possible all day Saturday.

What is the variety of that first rudbeckia? I know that I'd have to protect them from rabbits, but it sure is pretty.

My 'Moonshine' yarrow continues to look great in spite of the rain while I was away. Very impressive in the third year of growing it (and that's with moving a few around last fall).

I saw the 'Pink Grapefruit' at Lowes yesterday. It is lovely, but I'm struggling to find another spot that's dry enough without moving agastache around.

Cameron, that is Rudbeckia hirta. All of these shown today were either grown from seed, or are siblings of those plants from last year. They cross pollinate so easily, it's hard to know what you'll get when you grow them. Most are yellow. Some have brown petals. They usually bloom later for me. My Cherry Brandy is just starting to bud. Another week and I should have blooms on those too. I'll save you some seed this year.

Lovely photos of your Rudbeckia hirta! I always enjoy them (and their perennial cousin R. fulgida), and like to see them popping up here and there. Some folks complain about that, but I think it's quite nice.

Hope we get some rain tonight and tomorrow. So far, we've just had spitting the last few days, in spite of clouds....

I like all of the yellow blooms. Of course, I like all of the colors.

I was tickled to have some rudbeckias I bought as annuals survive, some in pots, and some in the ground.

Our high today was in the 80s, warmer than where you are.

Oh Sue, we made it up to the mid 80s this afternoon before the storms rolled in. It's 66 degrees and raining now.

Rudbeckia is one of my favorite filler plants. It takes up empty space nicely with the sunny blooms.

You are looking very summery there Tom.

My rudbeckias are just starting too. I have several different ones. I think they have all crossed I have very few of the originals strains left. I don't care. I love them all.

Hot here too. We could use another shower about now.
