Poppies and Rudbeckia

A new poppy opened yesterday near the mailbox. I like it.

Rudbeckia hirta.

Rudbeckia fulgida. These are coming earlier this year than last.

Gazania from seed.

Red Hot Pokers and Asiatic lilies by the street. The Stargazers have started to bud.

It's 77 degrees. Rain last night, more this evening and Sunday. Storms possible.

It's odd, my OP poppies have long since gone to seed and my Kniphofia have no signs of a bloom.

From seed of a similar poppy to yours I had some come true and some purple. The purple were very small. I didn't mark anything, so next year's poppies will be a toss-up, or toss-out.

That is an amazing shot of those poppies. I do agree. You have some great flowers there.

I don't know what kind of poppy it is. I do have others growing nearby, and plan to save some seeds from the purple and this one especially. I'll have a few to trade this fall. ;)
