Autumn

It was an almost perfect day. There was a bit of wind that kept you cool in the sun. If you could escape it in the shade, it was comfortable. It's clear and 61 degrees. Trevor made me a new banner. I like it.

Closed the windows in the house for the first time in 6 months. My hands are cold.

It's pretty chilly here, too...BTW, the cuttings from the October Glory red maple didn't make it. They were drowned by all the recent rainfall, and i'll be better prepared next time.

I also closed the windows for the first time in months. We got a blast from Alaska that dropped our temps 30 degrees from last week. Sooo coolld...

EG, take cuttings from deciduous plants in January. Stick them in well draining, sandy soil, and set them in the shade. If you have rooting hormone, dust the ends before you stick them. I bet you have better success in the winter.

LeSan, it's not that cold here yet. It's a nice 50 degrees this morning.
