Lunch at McDonald's.

I didn't go to McDonald's because I enjoy it. I do like the large sweet tea for $1, but that's beside the point. I went because of a plant they have at the drive-thru. It's finally reached the curb. I pulled up, one car length from the speaker, opened the door, reached out and snatched what I could grab in 3 seconds or less. I tossed it into the floor of the truck and pulled forward to place my order.

It's sitting in water on the kitchen windowsill. These pictures don't do it any justice. It's green and white and pink. It's a sweet potato vine, I hope.

It's cooled off to 88 degrees. The accuweather icon on my browser says it's mostly cloudy. HA! It's completely sunny. Low tonight should be back into the mid 60s, same as this morning.

The leg is still swelling during the day, shrinking at night. I brought home some more clearance plants this evening. One day, I'll get them planted.

ROFL. Plant bandit on the move!! Yes, your loot is definitely a sweet potato vine. I'm checking the internet now to see if they've posted your snatch-n-grab from their security cameras. LOL If you're caught, tell 'em it was the meds made you do it... ;-D

Woops. I forgot, there is a real term for what you did. It's called "plant russling" and you are a "plant russler". People do it all the time, especially around abandoned homesites, old buildings, etc. A lot of old roses have been saved by russlers, so you are in good company.

But I'm still laughing....!

I've been eyeing it all summer. What better timing? They gonna harass a guy on crutches about some silly plant?

The nearest fast food place from my house is a Burger King...all they have is boring foundation plantings.

How funny! I hope it grows for you.

I have gotten behind again. I looked back to see how you got hurt. I may have read it before and forgot, though. I looked at the photo of your stitches and bruising. I hope you are on the mend.

I actually came here this morning, because I am assuming you got the same email I did from Go Green, asking if it's OK to put your blog in their directory. I got one, and when I went to check, my blog was already there, and yours and a few others I recognize were, too. In some ways I don't mind, but they shouldn't ask and already have it there. Also, they have a store where they sell worm raising supplies. They also have a blog that doesn't look like most blogs, and the one article I read had a link to Sears for lawn mower shopping. (I don't know if you'd appreciate that.) Anyway, I'm thinking I'm going to ask to have it taken off, because who knows who else they are advertising for?

My husband said there's no link to them from my blog, so I'm still not advertising, but I have no control over what all they advertise for, and if my blog is in their directory, that implies I agree with what they do.

How do you view it?

love "harvesting" extras from wayward plants! hehe

that indeed is a variagated sweet potato vine. we just picked one up over the weekend ourselves! :)

datura seeds are coming up btw, and the plant i bought a couple weeks ago has 9 new buds on it! i had to snip off the 2 that were beginning to blossom because they just weren't doing well after transplanting into a bigger pot. but the plant itself is growing great! :)
