The Heat of August

It's here. Today is our coolest day out of the next week. At 91, standing in the sun was miserable. I sweated more today than I did working in my own yard. It's the concrete.

After work, I watered a few things I planted or moved yesterday. The potted cuttings are holding up well. The ziplock bags have lots of humidity. The sedums don't look like they've been planted at all. No rain in the forecast until Wednesday, my day off. Amazing how that happens. It's currently 89 and sunny. 63% humidity.

Wow! Look at all that snow. We had quite a bit of the white stuff last winter too- thanks for the reminder!

That's a beautiful snow shot.

Not to gloat, but it was only in the low to mid 80's here in Va. with what for us is low humidity, and we have had over 4" of rain in 4 days. I'll enjoy it while I can, we are supposed to have temps close to 100 in a few days.

Don't you love august in NC? The humidity is so much fun. I always heard sweating was good for you. I am normally not a fan of winter, but I am really looking forward to fall.

Take it easy in the garden the next few days.

Could we share a little of that snow in Georgia? I'd like it just for a couple of hours to cool things off, then warm again in the morning would be ok.

Today is forecasted to be our hottest day of summer so far (92 and humid) so your snow pic is welcome. I may even have to take the cover off my a/c and actually turn it on today. We'll see... We haven't broken 89 yet this year.
