Day 5

Mr. Lincoln is now in its fifth day of blooming. Normally the blooms have faded by now, but the cooler temperatures have helped.

Only one bloom on a single cane almost 6' tall.

There was a light frost last night in town and at the store. The temperature at 6am was hovering right about 32 degrees. No frost in my yard, as far as I can tell. Today's forecast calls for 70 degrees. It's 55, sunny, and breezy.

Queen Elizabeth tends to do that, too, left to her own devices.

Late season roses are one of my favorite things in the garden....they always seem magical to me.

A very marvelous photo of Mr. Lincoln. I like how they put out one more bloom at the end, literally at the tall stem end. Good shot.
