The End of the Season.

It's a great time to score some real deals at most garden centers. Even the chain stores have to get rid of things. So for less than sushi, I got 45 perennials for the back yard. The Crape Myrtle bed didn't fill in at all this year.

So I've chosen drought resistant plants for those areas. Agastache, Rudbeckia, yarrow, Salvia greggii, and others will complete the beds later this week.

I'm not sure where the helenium will end up. There are a few meadow sage plants in the mix too. I'll probably scatter them through the perennial bed. Little color remains. I cut down and removed a lot of things last week.

Frost damage was hit and miss. I mean, really?

Waiting for spring is like watching grass grow.

It's 52 degrees. I split some wood and changed the brake pads on Carla's Honda. I hope she made it home safely. I didn't hear a crunch or scream. Heading to Charlotte tonight for dinner with friends. Back to work tomorrow.

Look at all those wonderful goodies you get to plant.

It's been a gray, breezy, chilly day here for us. A few sprinkles, not enough to water things nicely.

Have a nice evening and a great week.

Isn't the sign still in the yard?

Do you work on Miatas?

I got some of that very same agastache at the Lowe's here a couple of weeks ago. I should go back and see what else is left!

We got rain last week, FlowerLady. We're getting back to our normal schedule on that. The plants will go dormant soon anyway with the frosts. Another this morning.

Jim, I might can work on a miata as long as we're doing brakes or an oil change. Big stuff has to go to the shop. The house is still for sale. Doesn't mean I'm not above spending $10 on 45 plants.

Ginny, we've still got a few things on clearance. The mums didn't sell as well as we'd hoped.

Tom,
You got some great deals. Now you need a truckload of compost to plant it all in. We missed the frost. I did see lots out in the open that was frosted but our banana tree is still intact.

I ordered 6 Japanese Anemones (bare root) from Denmark got free shipping and the 6 plants ran me $20, the local garden centers if they had these I'd paid $10 for one plant.

Yeah Randy, I need to get with my girl that has the horse poop. She's probably got a large pile out there by now.

Guess it's time to take a trip to get some discounted plants. Hubby just changed the brake pads on my car this past weekend too. Enjoy your dinner.
