Who's the Bosch?

Apparently, I am. Or at least the new dishwasher I brought home today is. I can't say what I paid for it, but it was a returned product thanks to some poorly placed hands during delivery. It's got a dent or two. And it's a Bosch stainless. It completes my kitchen (except for the new sink, paint touchups, slate tile, and door to the side yard).

This thing has a different story. I installed a thermostat right after I moved into this house because I liked the style. It was round, but digital. When I had an orange wire left over, I never really thought about it. The heat came on. The a/c worked. No big deal. Well, that orange wire powered my heat pump. It has sat for 2.5 years and not been used. Instead, I was using the emergency heat only. Thanks Jim. Excellent gift. I feel so dumb.

It's 57 outside and already the heat pump has the house warm. I bumped it up a bit to 70 and it's already there.

Yeah....the orange wire is typically connected to the reversing valve - as you found out....

Tom, I have that same SS dishwasher.

Mine wasn't cleaning well; I was told to use Cascade Complete and to always keep the rinse dispenser filled. They are manufactured to use less water....need the double strength rinse. Since then, It works great.

It could have been because of our hard well water....but the other DW was fine.

LOL, Tom, I can relate after three months of getting to know my heat pump! Never had one before.

We had the opposite problem, our heat pump was pumping away but the heat strips weren't coming on.

Our electric bill has been pretty low, compared to last winter's bills for electric and gas together, at our previous home. Yeah, I'm thinking you'll like your electric bill better now that your heat pump's coming on...
