Preparations

I'm throwing myself a 38th birthday party. I want to host something. Me, Robert, and Laura all have birthdays in February or very Early March. I want to get friends together to celebrate. And it's something to do.

So I need to prepare. I still have to paint the underside of the front porch. I want to paint the back bedroom too. The walls are beaten up from me using it as a bedroom/office/storage space. I'm thinking of changing the color just a bit. Maybe something more fern-like. All the trim still needs to be painted in both bedrooms. The ceiling in the smaller room is still only primed with Kilz. Never use a sprayer with solvent based primers. Woooooo. I still remember that headache.

I want to finish sorting the basement too. I've invited about 40 people knowing only a few will actually show. Some are from work, others from my closer personal circle. It should be interesting to get them all together in the same room. As prepared as it can be, the garden is doing its own thing. Seedlings are up, daffs are pushing through, spring is right around the corner.

I want to blow off a little steam before the madness really begins at work. It's 36 degrees. I need to split more wood.

Nothing like a party to make you get the house in order. Sure beats the other thing that makes one get the house in order, selling.

Yes, when outsiders are coming into a house you immediately start seeing things that need to be changed or cleaned. Painting is a boost in spirit when you get done too.

I hope you like my present.

Oh yes, having company will definitely make you see things that need doing, that's for sure. Don't stress or work too hard though. The guests will be there for the party.

Have a wonderful birthday celebration. Keep us posted as to what you'll be serving, etc. Have fun.

You are young yet. Being the age of 38 will be 24 years ago (next month) for me. :-)

Have a great party! And if the painting doesn't get done, dim the lights. Who knows what will happen when the different circles come together in the dark....
