It is a great smell. We had farm field fires around here as the sparks from machinery are setting the dry corn stalks on fire. That is a neat photo of your brick home.
I love that scent too, although I've not lived with it all that much. Every time I smell it, I am transported above the mundane. I just can't put it into words, but know that you know what I mean. It's a clean, earthy, therapeutic scent.

We smell it less and less out here in the country. I think all our neighbors are getting older, including us, and they aren't using wood anymore.
I am getting ready to build an outdoor fire to burn some garden cleanup...that will give us a smell!
Another great scent of winter. Love the count down to Spring!
