Down in the basement, I tossed some wood scraps into the heater. The coals from last night were still hot. The fire has been going for a while now. Upstairs, it's 72 degrees. We made it up to 75 last night when I went to bed. I was almost sweating.
I've spent the morning repotting a couple indoor plants. I found a lonely sago baby on the clearance rack. They've been marked down by corporate to half price. I wanted to put it in the metal container.
That meant that the yucca needed to find a new home. It's grown well this year outdoors against the brick wall. I may need to move it into another room where it will get more sunlight.
The plants from last week have bounced back. Even the jade seems perky. It probably likes the dry air from the heat register that fills this corner. The fire in the basement sucks the remaining humidity out of the air.
It's 48 degrees and cloudy. Rain is likely this evening and tonight. Tomorrow it's almost guaranteed. It's going to be a long, cold night at work. The garden center now closes at 7pm. I have to work til 11. Bah.

how's the new job?
So far it's going well, Jim. I'm getting more comfortable with what I have to do. Hopefully, they'll get on with the interviews for my old position and get me some backup soon. This is task time and there's only a couple of people who can do anything.
the jade looks like ikebana. that's the word...ikebana
