Rain and fog.

It's cloudy and 57 degrees this morning. Overnight, it continued to drizzle while the fog rolled in. Poinsettias arrived at the store yesterday. Christmas trees will be there on Friday. Somehow, it doesn't feel like Christmas yet with Thanksgiving not even out of the way.

Three and a half hours before I have to be at work, I'm doing laundry and dishes this morning while putting a forgotten seed trade together. I'm sending her pink bee balm, brown rudbeckia, red coreopsis, Yvonne's salvia, pineapple sage, white nicotiana, and two that she hasn't asked for, purple cleome and Golden Jubilee hyssop.

The rain and most of the clouds should clear out by 2pm. Weather.com claims a high of 69. I'm not believing it just yet.

2:34pm - still cloudy. 61 degrees. It's awfully warm, must be the humidity which stands at about 99%. It's been drizzling on and off all morning. There's no much going on at the store. Tomorrow, if the ground dries out a little overnight, I might move some more firewood into the basement. Sunday, we've got lows in the upper 30s forecast. Still no killing frost in sight.

Do you work/own a nursery/store?

The garden is beautiful on such a misty day. :)

Darla, I work in the garden center at the local Lowe's. I'm the Live Nursery Specialist. I'm in charge of almost $1million in yearly inventory and get to decide what plants and how many are brought into the store. :)

Thanks Nancy. It's still pretty nice out there right now. I'm enjoying the final fall color.

Hi Tom, I'll take your warmer temps...even with the fog.

Poinsettias found in my supermarket a week already...the kind with sprayed gold/silver...ick!

Isn't it amazing that there's been no serious frost yet? I go out every morning thinking it will have crept in overnight, but the roses and others just keep blooming away!
