When your fig bush gets bigger, the birds will get the exposed ones, you will get the tasty ones kind of hidden under a big leaf. Birds are seeking water; figs are juicy.

At least they allowed it to get somewhat ripe. The birds? squirrels? enjoyed everyone of the figs on my tree...long before they were ripe.
