Three day weekend coming up. Spending it on the lake with Laura. Tomatoes are being harvested. Beans and cukes have been pickled. I mowed the grass this morning. Too hot to do much else. Plants are hanging in there. I'm not.
Dear Tom ~ It is good to hear from you. Enjoy your weekend on the lake. The heat has been awful. Right now at 7:05 p.m. it is 91 and feel like it is 96. Humidity is 61%.
Summers can be so brutal, but we have to keep on top of things as much as possible to keep things growing.
Looks like the heat wave has hit most of the country. It is now 99 here. I was watering my flowers at daybreak this morning and tending to some other gardening tasks. By 8 am, I had to come in as the humidity was 98% and it was only 81 then.
If it makes you feel any better, your HIGH temps are the LOW temps that we are looking forward to for one or two days next week. Running about 105 or higher here (south central Kansas) for over 30 days so far this summer. Siiiiggghhhh. No wonder I'm a fall and winter person! Hang in there. Deb

Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady
Enjoy your time on the water.
Sorry about the heat, we had it bad down here during April and May and June, but July has been better.
Tom,
We got 100 degrees today and expect 100 every day through Sunday. And more humidity too, enjoy!!
